Street sections in Cologne

A street section is part of the municipal area structure. This hierarchical system divides the Cologne city area into an urban structure and block structure at various levels. Other components include a street structure and addresses. The entire municipal regional division is explained in this publication. Definition: A road section defines a section of a road from one intersection or junction to the next. Road sections begin and end at road junctions and are usually numbered consecutively in increments of ten. The numbering starts at the part of the street where the house numbering begins. For streets that do not have house numbers, the numbering usually runs from the city center towards the city limits. Explanation of the attributes is attached to the shapefile as a CSV. It is updated approximately every six months and before each election.
