In each case, the best data basis available throughout Bavaria was used in order to be able to make statements that are as uniform as possible across the board. Therefore, datasets from different scale ranges were used together for modelling. Examples are on the one hand the highly generalized pedological overview map on a scale of 1:1,000,000 and on the other hand the detailed digital terrain model in a 50 m grid. Furthermore, data was worked with, some of which can also show clear regional differences in quality (e.g. groundwater table distance, regionalized station data of the various climate parameters). Therefore, the map sheet "Mean groundwater recharge from precipitation (1971-2000)" represents a large-scale overview and enables a description of the regional conditions appropriate to the scale of 1:500,000. A use of the grid-related individual values ​​for detailed statements is methodologically not permissible.
