Data from beach litter monitoring on the Schleswig-Holstein Baltic Sea coast. The monitoring along the coast of Fehmarn was organized by NABU and carried out with the help of volunteers. The number of pieces of waste shown results from the median of the pieces of waste recorded on 100m transects in the specified period. Up to 4 recordings are carried out per monitoring year, with the monitoring year covering the recordings from the beginning of December of the previous year to the end of November of the year mentioned. Beach litter is recorded in accordance with the OSPAR Beach Litter Guideline (2010).
