Estimated matrix of movements of commercial and heavy vehicles of interest for the Lombardy region (2020). The matrix refers to an average weekday and considers 526 zones (437 zones within the region - the result of mergers of municipalities and/or, for the larger municipalities, parts of municipalities - 69 outside Lombardy and 20 "intermodal gates" - 8 road-rail intermodal terminals within Lombardy; 3 external intermodal terminals; 4 cargo airports; 3 sea ports in the Ligurian system; 2 waterway ports). The data on vehicle movements are divided with reference to categories N1, N2 and N3 as defined by the art. 47 of the Highway Code: - N1: vehicles intended for the transport of goods, with a maximum mass not exceeding 3.5 t; - N2: vehicles intended for the transport of goods, with a maximum mass exceeding 3.5 t but not exceeding 12 t; - N3: vehicles intended for the transport of goods, with a maximum mass exceeding 12 t.
