Map of the Principality of Lippe 1: 25,000, 1881-1883

The area of ​​the former principality of Lippe, almost identical to today's district of Lippe, was not affected by the Prussian mapping. The present map series is an island map in 6 sections (sections) without a geodetic reference that is still recognizable today. It was derived by generalizing the land tax district map (cadastre map) and drawn between 1881 - 1883. The georeferencing was carried out with identical points from the Prussian re-recording of 1891-1912. Section V was divided. The right part has been added to Section VI. This was necessary to allow four map parts to meet at one point. After merging, the map sheets bordering on Prussia were trimmed at the border. The gaps or overlays that occurred at the edges of the map can be explained by different recording methods, border regulations in the period from approx. 1836 - 1881 and the different geodetic bases.
