Interesting places (POI) Wuppertal

The data set includes (as of 05/2021) 684 points of interest (POI) in the city of Wuppertal or in its immediate vicinity. Thematically, it covers about 30 categories from the fields of leisure, culture, tourism, urban infrastructure, etc. The data modeling is based on ISO19112 and includes e.g. multiple categorization when a main category is selected, the optional assignment of several alternative names and assignment to higher-level subject areas (life situations). The coordinates of the POI originally referred to the Official City Map of Wuppertal, a slightly generalized map at a scale of 1:15,000. In 06/2018, the POI coordinates for using the POI in the online city map of the city of Wuppertal, which uses a non-generalized map basis with the Stadtplanwerk 2.0 (SPW2.0) of the Ruhr Regional Association, were revised. Intermediary positions were determined, which enable a correct position assignment of the POI to the situation display in the background map on both maps. The data is continuously updated in connection with the map editing work for the continuation of SPW2.0 in the area of ​​the city of Wuppertal. The data set is available under an open data license (CC BY 4.0). However, it includes hyperlinks from photographs that may not be covered by this license. A transfer or publication of these images must be agreed with the respective image creator.
