The punctual geometry cartography, in relation to the type of exposed elements considered, in relation to the Po Basin Authority Unit of Management (UoM) (ITN008), represents the risk map of the coastal area and indicates the potential consequences negative effects deriving from floods expressed in terms of: economic and social activities in the area, plants that could cause accidental pollution in the event of floods, strategic structures (hospital settlements, schools), cultural heritage (cultural assets), etc. The risk map developed responds to two different approaches: based on the requirements of Directive 2007/60/EC (art. 6, paragraph 5), it indicates the presence and location of exposed elements within areas with different hazards of floods identified in the hazard maps, divided into some codified categories (cultural heritage, dams, plants, hospital settlements, schools); based on the requirements of Legislative Decree 49/2010 (art. 6, paragraph 5), by combining the probability of flooding with the vulnerability to flood phenomena and with the value of the exposed elements, it classifies the territory into 4 risk classes, R1 (moderate or none), R2 (medium), R3 (high), R4 (very high), pursuant to the D.P.C.M. September 29, 1998.
