Designation measuring network for the areas contaminated with nitrate in accordance with Section 13a DüV (12/2022) and in accordance with Section 4 AVV GeA

The Excel table lists all groundwater quality measuring points of the WFD and EUA/nitrate measuring network NRW that were used to designate the "red" areas contaminated with nitrate and for the immission-based demarcation of contaminated/unpolluted sub-areas within the affected groundwater bodies (as of: 12/2022 ). Measuring points without agricultural influence that have a nitrate or nitrate input concentration above the groundwater threshold or a rising nitrate trend are not included in the table because, according to AVV GeA, they are not taken into account in the area designation. The spreadsheet contains the following information: - 9-digit official measuring point number and name of the measuring point - Municipality and district in which the measuring point is located - Groundwater body (ID and name) to which the measuring point is assigned during monitoring - Location coordinates (these are omitted for data protection reasons last two points) - dominant land use influence in the inflow area of the measuring point - information as to whether there is currently a persistently increasing nitrate trend at the measuring point in the period 2009-2018 in accordance with GrwV (yes/no) and whether there is a nitrate value > 37.5 mg/l at the same time - Average of the maximum values MWMxJW1619 (nitrate; mg/l) for the years 2016-2019 at the measuring point - nitrate input concentration (mg/l) in the period 2016-2019, if available (the average is used for several measurements). The basis is measurements of the parameter “Excess N2 (converted into nitrate in mg/L)” and the “nitrate concentration” as a sum value from the same groundwater sample. The data is in ELWAS-web. The nitrate input concentration corresponds to the nitrate concentration before denitrification in the groundwater. The excess N2 (excess N2 formed by nitrate degradation) is determined using the N2/Ar method. - Relevant value from which the information can be derived as to whether MWMxJW1619 or nitrate input concentration is decisive when delimiting polluted/unpolluted sub-areas. - Information as to whether the measuring point is relevant for the designation of “red field blocks” or not. This is the case for agriculturally influenced measuring points where the nitrate value (MWMxJW1619) or the nitrate input concentration is greater than 50 mg/l, as well as for agriculturally influenced measuring points where there is an increasing nitrate trend and the nitrate value (MWMxJW1619) is 37.5 mg/l. l or greater. In addition to the data table (spreadsheet “AWMN_2022_11”), the Excel file contains a spreadsheet explaining the attributes (spreadsheet “Data information”) and a spreadsheet with information on the groundwater bodies (spreadsheet “GWK table”).
