WTCB - Smart Geotherm thermal conductivity (minimum)

These maps are grid maps that represent the minimum thermal conductivity in Flanders over a depth of 100 m, to the solid rock or to the charted depth. It was decided to use the HCOV model for the estimation of the thermal conductivity. The applied methodology divides the different hydrogeological layers into a certain number of categories according to the soil type of which the layer mainly consists. Based on literature data, a realistic minimum value for thermal conductivity was assigned to each category. These values ​​were further tested by means of a calibration on the basis of more than 15 available TRTs, randomly carried out in Flanders in the context of real construction projects.
