Total level of facilities per ha - condition 2019

This map indicates for each location of 1ha in the Flemish and Brussels-Capital Region what the total level of facilities is on a scale from 0 to 1, as a result of the calculation of the proximity (according to well-defined parameters) of facilities of the following 3 types : basic facility, regional facility, metropolitan facility, and this for reference year 2019. The calculation is based on the location of the individual facilities and then it is determined which ha cells are located within walking or cycling distance of the totality of the facilities. In several steps (1) the facilities are aggregated into a content-technically processable set, (2) weighted according to their number in the vicinity, and (3) distance-weighted are summed up. A total of 50 different aggregated facilities are mapped out, divided into four classes: education, culture and sports, care and housing support facilities. Where possible, the facilities in Brussels were supplemented with information from the Agency for Territorial Development (ATO, 2010).
