Inventory of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in the Parisian territory

Dataset listing greenhouse gas emissions annually by activity sector.The greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory exercises make it possible to identify the contribution of each sector of activity, the emissions generated by our lifestyles and the influence of local, national or European policies.The inventory of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in the Paris area has been monitored since the reference year 2004. Since then, in the framework of the Climate Plan, the City of Paris monitors the carbon impact of its action (2009, 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2020). Its accounting is carried out using the Bilan Carbone Territoire© tool, developed by ADEME and supported by lAssociation pour la Transition Bas Carbone. The limits of financial year 2019 & 2020 are identical to those of the 2018 GHG emissions report. The 2019 and 2020 technical notice is being drafted by the Carbon Neutrality Department of the DTEC - which is piloting this exercise in collaboration with a large number of external partners, City departments and Airparif. These last exercises have made it possible to feed the Consultation for the revision of the 2024-2030 Climate Plan.The emission factors used are those of the ADEME Carbon Base, for the year of study considered Each of the reviews is independently audited and certified.These inventories are full accounting versions of the GHG emissions of the Parisian territory (air transport of Parisians and transport outside Paris included) .To make inventories more readable for local action, since 2018, as part of its carbon neutral trajectory in 2050, the Paris greenhouse gas emissions balances are presented distinguishing:¤ Local shows : include all direct emissions from Paris. All emissions generated by building energy consumption, intramural transport and waste are included in this scope. ¤ Carbon Footprint Paris : includes local emissions AND emissions generated outside the territory, i.e. planes used by Parisians, food and embodied energy of products consumed in Paris, transport generated by Paris in beyond its administrative boundaries.It is possible to compare local Parisian broadcasts with other cities around the world on the portal for C40 KNOWLEDGE HUB.This dataset was developed by the Climate Cluster (Climate Democracy) in collaboration with the Data Strategy Mission of the Management of the Ecological Transition and the Climate of the City of Paris.
