Groundwaterprotectionzones

The protection zones around the drinking water abstractions (Aalsterweg/Klotputten and Welschap) in Eindhoven are part of these data. These are laid down in the provincial environmental regulation (PMV). Conditions for working within protection zones are included in the PMV. These conditions are aimed at protecting drinking water abstractions against potential contamination. Three zones are distinguished: water extraction areas, 25-year zone and the drilling-free zone. A different protection regime applies within the different zones. The strictest regime applies to the water extraction area, descending to the drilling-free zone where the least strict regime applies. The province is the competent authority to grant exemption for working in the protection zones. For publication we use the GIS service of the Province of North Brabant.
