BDTRE - Hydrography

The "Hydrography" layer is part of the Bodies' Territorial Reference Database (BDTRE), structured according to the national technical specifications (Prime Minister's Decree of November 10, 2011), collects the topics concerning the description of water bodies, the coast and marine waters. The contents of this layer are divided into the following topics, each further detailed into classes: - Inland and transitional waters - Marine waters - Glaciers and perennial snowfields - Hydrographic network

lineage	Fueled by the production of local Topographical DBs, financed by special tenders issued by the CRT Foundation (2006, 2010). While waiting for this process to be completed, the territory surrounding the areas derived from the productions of the Topographic DBs has been populated, only for the priority layers, with the most recent and updated data available. The latest update derives from the photogrammetric restitution process of the breaklines deriving from the Piedmont Region flight 2010. A further update was made on the areas on the regional border on the 2012 orthophoto. In 2015 the surfaces of the glaciers were updated deriving them from the New Italian Glacier Cadastre (edited by Smiraglia C. & Diolaiuti G ., 2015, Ev-2-CNR Ed.) In 2016, some corrections were made to the hydrographic network relating to public waters based on reports from the municipalities. In general, the data is maintained and continuously updated through reports from various subjects (professionals , private individuals, Public Administration entities) and sample checks. These interventions are made available at the time of the annual release of BDTRE.
