Areas prohibited for bathing - 2020 update

Stretches of the coast where bathing is expressly forbidden. In Emilia-Romagna, there are currently about 28 km of coast not used for bathing out of a total of over 136 km of coastline. Of these, approximately 16 km are in the province of Ferrara, 10 km in the province of Ravenna, 0.3 km in the province of Forlì-Cesena and 1.5 km in the province of Rimini. The areas not used for bathing, and therefore prohibited, are divided into following categories: areas used for shellfish farming, military areas, areas subject to conservation restrictions as they are part of the Po Delta Regional Park, river areas and port areas.
