The data relating to the monitoring of species and habitats of Community interest represent the compliance of the Piedmont Region with the provisions of art. 17 of the 92/43/EEC "Habitats" Directive, according to which the member states must report every 6 years on the conservation status of the species and habitats included in the annexes of the Directive, and therefore worthy of protection, present on their territory. The data refer to the presence of species and habitats both within the sites of the Natura 2000 network (SCI and SPA) and outside and, for some of them, information is also available relating, respectively, to the size of the populations and the occupied territorial coverage. They are also associated with the assessment carried out by the Ministry of the Environment on the state of conservation and on the trend of each species and habitat, however referring to the entire biogeographical region and not to the single regional body. The data refer to the 2019 campaign.
