Territory: location of the Census sections

The reusable database contains the geographical vector representation of the 2011 census sections * 1) Census Section defines the minimum survey unit of the Municipality of Milan on the basis of which the census survey is organized, relating to the 15th General Population Census and housing. It consists of a single body delimited by a closed broken line; starting from the census sections it is possible to reconstruct, by sum, the geographical and administrative entities of a higher level (census areas - ACE, inhabited localities, sub-municipal areas, constituencies and others). Each census section must be completely contained within one and only one locality. The municipal territory must be exhaustively subdivided into census sections. The TIPO_LOC field identifies the 2011 type of locality and can assume the following values: 1. built-up area: cluster of contiguous or nearby houses with interposed roads, squares and the like, or in any case short continuity solutions characterized by the existence of public services or establishments (school, public office, pharmacy, shop or similar) which constitute an autonomous form of social life and, generally, also a meeting place for the inhabitants of the neighboring areas in order to demonstrate the existence of a form of social life coordinated by the center itself. * 2) inhabited nucleus: inhabited locality, without the meeting place that characterizes the inhabited center, consisting of a group of at least fifteen contiguous and nearby buildings, with at least fifteen families, with interposed roads, paths, squares, farmyards, small gardens, small uncultivated areas and the like, provided that the interval between houses does not exceed thirty meters and is in any case less than that between the nucleus itself and the closest of the houses which are clearly scattered. * 3) production locality: extra-urban area not included in inhabited centers or nucleuses in which there are more than 10 local units, or whose total number of employees is more than 200, contiguous or nearby with interposed roads, squares and similar, or in any case short continuity solutions not exceeding 200 metres; the minimum area must correspond to 5 hectares. * 4) scattered houses: houses scattered throughout the municipal area at such a distance that they cannot even constitute an inhabited nucleus. The following are also reported: the codes of the Census Areas - ACE to which they belong; the resident population as of 31.12.2010. The downloadable csv resource contains columns of georeferenced points, which correspond to the centroid of the geometry used in the related GeoJSON resource.
