Agglomerations ATO Province of Milan

Legislative Decree 152/06 and subsequent amendments defines agglomeration as "the area in which the population, i.e. the productive activities, are concentrated to an extent that makes it feasible, both technically and economically also in relation to the achievable environmental benefits, for the collection and conveyance of urban waste water into a dynamic sewer to a treatment system or to a final delivery point”

lineage	The first identification of agglomerations dates back to 2007. The delimitation was approved with resolution no. 11 of the Area Conference in the session of 12 December 2007. Considering that agglomerations have a dynamic nature linked both to the urbanization of the territory and to the degree of conveyance of urban wastewater discharges towards sewage network systems and purification plants, they were relimited in 2012 with approval in the Conference of Municipalities in the session of 11/10/2012 and with Provincial Council Resolution no. 441/2014 of 04 December 2012. The last update of the agglomerations in terms of delimitation and polluting loads generated is from December 2013
