Map layers Main natural units

The map layer natural spatial main unit can be selected in the Web Map Service landscape information collection (WMS LINFOS) and shows the location and spatial delimitation of the natural spatial units in North Rhine-Westphalia. The division of North Rhine-Westphalia into main natural areas primarily takes into account geomorphological, geological, hydrological and pedological criteria in order to divide the landscape into larger uniform areas (regional spatial units with largely uniform natural features). Apart from Germany's external national borders, political borders play no role.
