The Centre for Budapest Transport and open mobility data.

One of the major goals of the Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) is to make the capital’s public transportation network attractive to more and more of its citizens. Thus, for the first time in the history of Budapest, we make static timetable data and real-time data available to developers.

Hundreds of transportation companies around the globe use the completely open-source GTFS and GTFS-realtime formats, and many make it available to the public. BKK now does the same. With the availability of timetable data, it is now possible for anyone to integrate or develop their software with such information. The regularly updated database contains all departure and arrival information for the entire day and night network of all branches (bus, trolleybus, tram, metro, suburban railway, boat) for the upcoming few months. It allows the visualization of the entire network, and also includes the exact location and GPS coordinates of stops.
