LKT50 Lithofacies maps Tertiary 1 : 50 000

For the north-west Saxon lignite region around Leipzig, six sheets (2465 Bitterfeld, 2466 Eilenburg, 2666 Mittweida, 2566 Wurzen, 2565 Leipzig, 2665 Zeitz) are used to develop horizon and lithofacies maps for the entire Tertiary sequence of strata. The Tertiary is shown in 8 horizon maps as a layered sequence. Quaternary base and pretertiary maps as well as mining maps and regional sections are also part of the map series that is being created across the board for Northwest Saxony. Together with the "Lithofacieskarte Quaternär 1 : 50 000 (LKQ 50)" and the "Map of the Ice Age covered areas of Saxony GK 50" there is for the first time a uniform map series for the loose mountains of the north-west Saxon area in a complete sequence including surface and base maps as well as maps of the pretertiary subsoil.
