Land cover file, recording 2001

Geographical grid dataset showing land cover in Flanders and Brussels, state 2001. Land cover is the biophysical state of the earth's surface. Originally the term referred only to the vegetation that covered the soil, but human structures such as buildings are also classified under land cover. The land cover file was derived from 3 LANDSAT-7 ETM+ satellite images from the year 2001 using a semi-automatic classification. is 15m, the ground cover is divided into 9 classes.
