Forest types

It constitutes the updated collection of the geometries of the forest areas distinguished by typology and located in the territory of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. Most of these are areas occupied by woods as defined by the current regional forest law (n.9/2007). The geometries come from two different geodatabases: "Tipi Forestali 1998", updated in 2010 and "Completion of the GIS of the forest types of Friuli Venezia Giulia" created in 2011 and definitively validated in 2013.

lineage	The delimitation of the typological units was defined as follows: for the mountain area (field DB_ORIG = "TipiFor_2010") by initially vectorizing and structuring the data of the existing technical cartography with MapInfo; subsequently (2009-2010) the external perimeter of the forest areas was updated on the basis of the 2007 flight orthophoto; for the remaining area, the "Completion of Forest Types" project was approved in 2011, divided into four lots, each entrusted to an external professional, which provided for the geometric and typological verification in the countryside of the areas preliminarily delimited with a GIS application based on the orthophoto most recent (DB_ORIG field = "BoscPlan_2011"). In the first months of 2014, ontological, geographical and topological checks were carried out and some related corrections were made.
