Topographic maps are landscape-describing maps that show the earth's surface in its various manifestations - settlements, traffic routes, borders, bodies of water, terrain and vegetation - depending on the map scale, as clearly, as completely and clearly as possible. Signatures and map writing help to explain the topographical objects. The topographic map on a scale of 1:10,000 is produced using the “Digital Guided Topographic Map (ATKIS-DTK)” process based on the Digital Basic Landscape Model (Basic DLM). It corresponds to the Germany-wide requirements for map content, the geodetic basis, the character key and the layout. The update takes place in periodic cycles.
