Map layer specific energy power density 125m in NRW

The map shows the specific energy power density at a height of 125 m above ground. The map was modeled across NRW with a resolution of 100 x 100 m and validated with the yields of existing wind turbines in NRW. The specific energy power density is a measure of the power of the wind that flows through an area. It indicates how much power (in watts) is converted per square meter of rotor surface. The specific energy power density gives an indication of how suitable a site is for wind energy use.
