The water balance variables were determined on the basis of spatially and temporally high-resolution precipitation-runoff modelling. A nationwide model was set up in 2004 using the ArcEGMO model system. The model system was further developed for the present database and the time series used was extended to 2015. The Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU) provided the following data for the update: - water network gewnet25 (version 4.1; status: 2015) - lakes (version 4.1 status: 2016) - above-ground catchment areas ezg25 (version 4.0; status: 2014) - REGNIE -Data (precipitation data in grid format) for the period 1951 to 2015 - Update of the runoff series for 15 largely unaffected catchment areas for model validation and for 20 catchment areas for model adjustment for the period 1991 to 2015 The water balance parameters are related in their spatial resolution to the hydrological catchment areas.
