Trial area NRW

This map layer contains the representation of forestry test areas in North Rhine-Westphalia. Gaining scientific knowledge about the growth of forest trees or provenances has always been the subject of forest science investigations. In order to obtain valid knowledge in this area, test arrangements usually have to be looked after and maintained over several decades. In addition, test areas serve to gain knowledge about the reaction of forest trees to changing environmental conditions. Forest test areas are therefore of particular importance in order to understand the interactions within the forest ecosystem.
