Tragewegenregister (WFS)

The slow road register contains the inventoried slow roads in Flanders. This is understood to mean: roads that primarily serve slow traffic (pedestrians, cyclists and/or horse riders, possibly combined with agricultural or service vehicles) and that are used for public use. The database also contains non-abolished neighborhood and pedestrian roads that are not (or no longer) accessible. The service also contains photo locations with a hyperlink to a terrain photo of the location. The provinces proactively support the municipalities in local policy regarding slow roads. They help take stock of slow roads and draw up and implement slow road policy plans. The provinces therefore have many inventories of slow roads. These inventories have been drawn up at municipal level by various organizations (municipality itself, intermunicipal company, regional landscapes, Trage Wegen vzw, ...) with various methodologies. To turn this into a Flemish area-wide layer, the 5 provinces have drawn up a common database structure. All municipal inventories are gradually 'translated' into this uniform database structure. The data is also geometrically aligned with the Road Register. This is a collaboration between the provincial mobility services, with technical support from the GIS services. The Slow Roads data layer is permanently supplemented as new inventories are converted to the interprovincial database structure (content) and Road Register (geometric).
