Heavyrainhazardmaps

The heavy rain hazard map shows flooding focal points that result from the simulation of various heavy rain events. Three different heavy rains were simulated, which differ in their precipitation levels, among other things. 1) Euler type II with a statistical return time of 30 years: 39.3 mm within 60 min 2) Euler type II with a statistical return time of 100 years: 47.8 mm within 60 min 3) Block rain with a statistical return time of more than 100 years: 90 mm within 60 min. The central message of the map is the expected maximum water depth. In addition, the flow speed and flow direction can be selected for the respective heavy rain event. The URL of the services (WMS) for the flow directions can be called up via the corresponding layers. The map was commissioned by the city of Bielefeld in 2019 from Dr. Pecher AG Erkrath created as part of the climate adaptation concept of the city of Bielefeld.
