Sound map 2016 for Schiphol in the context of the Environmental Noise Regulation. The noise map for Schiphol (calculated according to weighted noise exposure over the night - Lnight) fulfills the requirements of the Aviation Act that arise from the European Environmental Noise Directive. The contours on the map are based on NLR model calculations and provide insight into the noise impact in the previous year (2016), here the year of use for Schiphol airport that ran from 1 November 2015 to 1 November 2016. About the map The map and the data originates from and is the property of the Ministry of Infrastructure & the Environment. The sound map was created within the framework of the EU noise mapping and contains noise contours varying between 50 and 75 dB in classes of 5 dB. Based on EU regulations, the next noise mapping will cover the year 2021 and will probably be ready and published online in 2022.
