lineage | The shoreline evolution measurements were performed using the shorelines digitized on the 2005 Costa Flight and the 2011 AGEA Flight. A ground baseline was created from which orthogonal transects were generated with equidistance of 20 meters, for each transect the variations in meters have been extracted starting from the oldest shoreline to the most recent one, therefore positive values indicate an advance, while negative values indicate an erosion of the coast. On the basis of the time elapsed between one aerial shot and the next, the "Rate of variation" of the shoreline expressed in metres/year was calculated for each transect. Finally, the 2011 shoreline was divided into various stretches (approx. 20 metres) in correspondence with each single transect which is located in the median position, the variation values of the respective transects have been reported on each single section. |
