The site of the National Institute of Volcanology makes data relating to seismic hazard values available. The punctual seismic hazard values are expressed in terms of maximum ground acceleration (ag = fraction of gravity acceleration) with a probability of exceeding 10% in 50 years, referred to rigid ground (Vs30>800 m\s, i.e. cat. A, point 3.2.1 of the Ministerial Decree of 09.14.2005). The ag values represented in this information layer were calculated on a grid with a 0.05 degree step, according to the Ordinance, for a total of 16,921 points. For each point, the standard values of ag (50th percentile) and the measurements of the uncertainties expressed in terms of the 16th and 84th percentile are provided. For now, the points that fall within the territory of some islands are not provided: Alicudi, Filicudi, Panarea, Pantelleria, Pelagie Islands, Sardinia, Stromboli, Ustica (MPS Working Group (2004).
