RK 50 LG A - raw materials map of North Rhine-Westphalia 1: 50,000 (loose rock) - analogue

The raw material map of North Rhine-Westphalia 1 : 50,000 loose rock [RK 50 LG] and the underlying information system [IS RK 50 LG] are based on investigations of the occurrence of non-energy near-surface raw materials in North Rhine-Westphalia by the GD NRW from 2007 to 2010. The map series is important planning basis for an ecologically and economically justifiable extraction of the raw materials. The RK 50 LG shows three thematic maps for the three loose rock raw material groups gravel/gravel sand, sand, clay/silt: Sheet 1: Distribution and thickness of the raw material body (thickness of the raw material bodies, shown in 2.5 m intervals); Sheet 2: Overburden Thickness (overburden layers overlying the raw material body, plotted at 2m intervals); Sheet 3: Occurrence of intermediate resources (intercalations in the raw material body that do not belong to the resource group. Information on the number, thickness and depth of intermediate resources in relation to the respective resource group is shown.). Sheet 3 also contains two additional maps on a scale of 1 : 100,000: 1. Base of the raw material body (depth of the lower surface of the respective raw material body as an absolute height in meters above sea level), 2. Groundwater levels and water protection areas (this data is not available for NRW for all areas and is therefore not available for every map sheet.).
