Restrictions on free uses of the sea

the presence of submarine platforms and pipelines for the extraction and transport of hydrocarbons, the presence of biological protection zones (ZTB) and fish restocking (nursery) and environmental protection zones (marine protected areas, SCIs and SPAs). and other activities related to military defense may limit certain free uses of the sea such as navigation, access, stopover, transit or anchorage.

lineage	The areas in which there are restrictions for the free uses of the sea have been elaborated starting from the vector Nautical Chart relating to sheet 37 provided by IIM. The additional restrictions were obtained by analyzing the currently applicable national, regional and European legislation. The difficulty of validating the data at sea does not allow us to provide precise indications on positional accuracy, which is in any case compliant with what is reported in the legislation. Further insights on the matter could in the future make changes to the data. Please report any inconsistencies found.
