Transverse structures and fish ladders

The improvement of the biological continuity in running waters is part of the overall package "Improvement of the hydromorphological water situation" and contributes to the implementation of the EC Water Framework Directive (EG-WFD). The State Office for the Environment (LfU) has carried out a Bavaria-wide data collection. A good 58,000 transverse structures (weirs, bed structures, culverts, piping) and fish ladders have been recorded and evaluated in the reportable Water Framework Directive network. The data can be called up in the Bavarian Environmental Atlas - subject area water management - or as a WMS service.
