PPR06 - Monumental trees

PPR Environmental Structure - Landscape heritage pursuant to art. 143 Legislative Decree 42/04 and subsequent mod. Punctual elements identifying the trees with important historical-environmental value cataloged by the Forestry Authority from the census of large trees in Sardinia. This category includes trees that are notable for their size (height, diameter, circumference), the posture, the projection of the crown and the presumed age in relation to the characteristics of the individual forest species. The location independently of other aspects (trees on rock, on nuraghes) also contribute to determining its status as a monumental tree when they contribute to characterizing the landscape and giving particular charm to places. Monumental trees are a landscape asset (Article 17 paragraph 3 letter l of the N.T.A. PPR).

lineage	Information layer elaborated in the context of the preparation of the Regional Landscape Plan. The datum was specifically created in the PPR project in order to form an information layer of this specific project; therefore its use should be limited to this context and its use as a general basis should be avoided. The data has the sole purpose of providing a vectorial basis of the information contained in the Regional Landscape Plan, which was formally approved by the Regional Council only in paper format; it is therefore necessary to consider, in the use of this data, that it has no legal value. The layer was elaborated starting from data coming from the different regional councillorships, obtained both from direct survey and from bibliographic research with the subsequent localization and thematization for photo-interpretation.
