Population registers

Population registers are books in which the inhabitants of a municipality are registered. They also include data such as professions, addresses, religion and relocations. The oldest of most West Frisian municipalities date from 1850. But there are a few from the 1820s and 1830s. On the website of the West Frisian Archive, population registers have been published up to about 1940.
