The sections observed in Burgundy-Franche-Comté in 2021 are defined as road sections characterized by sufficient observations of collisions between wildlife and vehicles for statistical analyzes to be able to highlight their accident-prone nature or not for wildlife. These road sections are themselves built from the BD Topo®, excluding the entire network intended for “local connection” or without administrative numbering. The data describes, for each section, the number and linear density of collisions observed over the years 2017 to 2021, with detail by family of animals (large mammals, small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians). Context of the study: As part of the implementation of SRADDET, Cerema ensures the administration of the database of observations of collisions with wildlife on the road and rail network of Burgundy-Franche-Comté. This database aggregates the data collected from the different partners, in a protocolized or opportunistic manner. From the information collected, Cerema uses this data, with the aim of improving knowledge of wildlife/vehicle conflict points on a regional scale, and to inform the implementation of public restoration policies. ecological continuities. The observation pressure, which is heterogeneous across the territory, only makes it possible to use the data collected on part of the regional road network for which the frequency of observer passage is almost daily. Thus in 2021, 4,500 km of road network can be described in terms of their accident-prone or non-accidental nature for wildlife, out of the 36,000 km of road in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. Similar work is being carried out on the rail network. For each section described, the number and linear density of collisions observed over the years 2017 - 2021 are indicated, with details by family of animals (large mammals, small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians). The collision data providers who contributed to this study are: - The Interdepartmental Road Directorates (DIR) East and Centre-East, - The motorway company APRR, - The SNCF, - The Departmental Council of Doubs, - The Protection League of Birds BFC (LPO), - Nature Nièvre - The Commission for the Protection of Water, Heritage, Environment, Subsoil and Bats of Franche-Comté (CPEPESC), - The Natural History Society of Autun (SHNA), - The French Office for Biodiversity. - The Regional Federation of Hunters - The Departmental Federation of Hunters of Saône et Loire - The Bulletin of Analysis of Personal Accidents of the National Interministerial Observatory of Road Safety (BAAC-ONISR). This operation benefits from the financial support of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region and the DREAL Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
