The monitoring of transition waters has as its objective the classification of lagoon waters and coastal ponds and is carried out in accordance with Legislative Decree 152/06. The analytical determinations carried out are: - chemical-physical and qualitative-quantitative analyzes of the phytoplankton; - search for polluting substances in the water; - qualitative analysis of macroalgae;- qualitative-quantitative analysis of benthic macroinvertebrates;- investigations relating to the composition and nature of the substrate;- search for polluting substances in the sediment;- ecotoxicological investigations. Sampling and analysis for water quality monitoring of transition is carried out by the Arpa provincial sections of Ravenna and Ferrara, each on the basis of their own territorial competences.
