Mixture toxic pressure surface water - NHx

This map provides a picture of the toxic pressure of ammonium/ammonia in Dutch surface water. Toxic pressure is important because chemical pollution affects aquatic communities and is also a signal that measures must be taken to make the water suitable for all kinds of social purposes (drinking water, irrigation, etc.). All points where water samples were taken for measuring substances in the period 2013-2018 are shown. The toxic pressure is shown in five classes of increasing toxic pressure. Increasing toxic pressure means that the aquatic community is increasingly hampered, causing more and more species to disappear.
