Average thermal conductivity of the subsoil for the depth range 0-100m

The layer lists of a total of 28742 boreholes were used to create the potential map. The thermal conductivity values ​​mentioned above for the water-saturated and dry or partially saturated zone were assigned to the individual layers, taking into account the groundwater table distance. With the help of mathematical methods, the effective thermal conductivity values ​​for the depth sections 0m - 50m and 0m - 100m were weighted and interpolated between the boreholes. The thermal conductivities are therefore shown on two maps. The thermal conductivity values ​​used were set conservatively in order to avoid the risk of undersizing geothermal probes. Additional effects, e.g. due to groundwater flow, were not taken into account. Therefore, thermal conductivity values ​​derived from geothermal response tests may be higher.
