| lineage | The datum is based on the datum of the land use map of 2003. The updated datum was acquired either from vector databases found or by photo-interpretation, by video digitization, on the basis of orthophotos 2004, AGEA 2003 and Ikonos 2005-2006 . Each entity was processed in ESRI shapefile format, and subsequently exported in ArcInfo E00 format. Furthermore, for the attribution of the classification of the objects according to the legend defined for the 2003 Land Use Map, various auxiliary materials were used and site inspections were carried out on 4000 points distributed throughout the territory. The legend of the thematic layers in question was defined for the 2003 Land Use Map, this derives from the Corine Land Cover legend detailed at the fourth level with respect to the territorial reality of the Sardinia region.
