Noise on main roads - Isophones LDEN 67 dB(A) - Mapping 2017

The data includes the calculation results of the 2017 environmental noise mapping on the main roads in Bavaria. Outside of metropolitan areas, these are all motorways, federal and state roads that, according to the 2015 traffic census, have a traffic load of more than 3 million motor vehicles per year. This corresponds to an average daily traffic volume (DTV) of more than 8,200 vehicles per day. Within metropolitan areas, these are all roads with a DTV of more than 8,200 vehicles per day. The noise indices LDEN and LNight in dB(A) are used as a measure of general annoyance and as a measure of sleep disturbances. The level LDEN is an immission level averaged over 24 hours, which consists of the levels LDay, LEvening and LNight for the assessment times day (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.), evening (6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and night (22 :00-6:00 a.m.) is determined. The increased sensitivity to noise during these times is taken into account by weighting factors of 5 dB(A) for the four-hour evening time and 10 dB(A) for the eight-hour night time. The layer represents the trigger value of 67 dB(A) for voluntary noise abatement on federal trunk roads and state roads for residential areas on the main roads outside the conurbations. There is no legal entitlement to noise abatement.
