Landfront Vlissingen

"The "Landfront", which formed the northern defense line of the "Verteidigungsbereich Vlissingen", ran from Fort Rammekens, over Oud and Nieuw Abeele, along the north side of Koudekerke to the dunes of Valkenisse. This defense, constructed from 1942, was formed by an obstacle in the form of a tank ditch, a concrete tank wall and dragon's teeth (""Höckerhindernisse"") to stop armored vehicles.Behind these were bunkers with anti-tank guns and machine guns (T. de Kruijf, J, Baalbergen, P.J.J. van Dijk et al.
