The "Land Coverage" product is provided as WMS "nw_landbedeckung" for North Rhine-Westphalia with no overlaps. The land cover is based on the AdV data model, in which 15 land cover classes (e.g. building construction, civil engineering, vegetation and bodies of water) are defined. In principle, these classes can be derived for the land cover of NRW and provided with this service. It should be noted that the land cover classes "solid rock", "sea" and "ice" are not found in North Rhine-Westphalia. When deriving the land cover, satellite data from the ESA’s Copernicus program (Sentinel-2) and geospatial base data available nationwide for NRW in the form of ALKIS data from the secondary database, digital orthophotos (DOP) and the normalized digital surface model (nDOM) are used. The topicality of the underlying and displayed data can be queried via the GetFeatureInfo of the layer (attribute data query). All land cover objects that exceed a minimum area of ​​100 square meters are identified separately; the building construction is shown in full from a minimum size of 10 square meters. The land cover objects are surveyed with an accuracy greater than or equal to 1 meter and less than 2 meters, as far as this can be derived from the input data.
