The dataset contains information on the geology of the Free State of Saxony. The data set of the map series depicts the geological solid and loose rock units in the Erzgebirge/Vogtland region on a scale of 1 : 50,000. Incomplete information on the stratigraphy and/or petrography of individual areas is gradually being completed. A uniform gray signature marks the incompletely attributed features. The data set can be used at a scale of less than 1:25,000. The map series is one of 7 geological map series, which is provided for the area of ​​the Free State of Saxony in its own INSPIRE-compliant map services.
