The data relating to the monitoring of species of Community interest represent the compliance of the Piedmont Region with the provisions of art. 17 of the 92/43/EEC "Habitats" Directive, according to which the member states must report every 6 years on the conservation status of the species and habitats included in the annexes of the Directive, and therefore worthy of protection, present on their territory. The data refer to the presence of the species both within the sites of the Natura 2000 network (SCI and SPA) and outside and, for some of them, information is also available relating, respectively, to the size of the populations and to the coverage occupied territory. They are also associated with the assessment carried out by the Ministry of the Environment on the state of conservation and on the trend of each species and habitat, however referring to the entire biogeographical region and not to the single regional body. The data refer to 2013. A WMS (Web Map Service) is a service that produces maps of spatially related data starting from geographic information, and is a technical specification defined by the OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium). This WMS presents data relating to the monitoring of species of Community interest and represents the compliance of the Piedmont Region with the provisions of art. 17 of Directive 92/43/EEC "Habitats. The maps can be viewed using various software (e.g. QGis) using the following url: http://geomap.reteunitaria.piemonte.it/ws/gsareprot/rp-01/monitspeciewms /wms_monitspecies?
