The hydrogeological map of Bavaria 1:500,000 (HK500) provides an overview of the hydrogeology in Bavaria and is intended for anyone interested in regional groundwater conditions in Bavaria. It gives an overview of the hydrogeological properties of the rocks, their groundwater flow and dynamics as well as the groundwater recharge from precipitation in the long-term average. The HK500 consists of the following data layers: Quaternary groundwater levels, foreland molasse groundwater levels, Malm groundwater levels, Sandsteinkeuper groundwater levels, Benker Sandstone groundwater levels, shell limestone groundwater levels, Buntsandstein groundwater levels, faults/Pfahl quartz, distribution of aquifers/aquifers, hydrogeological units, hydrogeological classification, mean groundwater recharge from precipitation (1971-2000), Groundwater recharge during the wet period (1979-1981), Groundwater recharge during the dry period (1971-1973).
