Contour lines and elevation points NW

The contour lines are used to represent the relief in topographical maps, among other things. The contour lines are derived from the digital terrain model DTM 1. The sequence of contour lines for the scales 1: 5,000, 1: 10,000, 1: 25,000, 1: 50,000 and 1: 100,000 is based on the respective signature catalog (SK) for the digital topographic maps (DTK). The contour lines from the "HL ABK" layer are exempt from all buildings and other higher-priority objects in the ALKIS secondary database. The contour lines and exemptions are updated annually. The elevation points are used to represent the relief, e.g. in topographical maps. There are special high points (at street crossings) and distinctive terrain points (knobs, hollows, saddles). There are also water table heights.
