The use of public transport is strongly determined by the quality of the pre- and post-transport. The area of influence of a bus stop indicates how far people are willing to walk to the bus stop. The area of influence is larger as public transport is faster, the frequency higher and the journey covers a greater distance. An area of influence of 400 to 500 meters is common for bus and tram lines, and 700 to 1000 meters for metros. The province of South Holland has determined four categories in which the areas of influence are calculated: 1. National rail stops: 1200 metres. 2. Regional rail stops (local train or metro): 1200 metres. 3. Stops bus and tram category HOV: 800 meters. 4. Stops bus and tram category Non-HOV: 500 meters. This dataset contains the category 2 areas of influence. -- The South Holland network of public transport influence areas, connections and stops is made up of main (NS) rail connections, regional rail connections, metro systems, express tram connections and regional express bus connections. --
