The geological maps of North Rhine-Westphalia at a scale of 1:25,000 provide basic data on the rocks on the earth's surface. They provide information about their distribution, nature and geological age. In combination of floor plans and series of sections, they offer a comprehensive model of the deeper subsoil, in which the thickness of the rock sequences and their storage conditions are immediately recognizable. The map sheet provides information on the distribution, thickness and storage conditions of the rock sequences over an area of approx. 125 km2. Age and composition of the rocks can be found in the legend. They are more detailed than the overview maps and are therefore suitable as a regional to local planning medium for municipalities, medium-sized companies, research, teaching and teaching as well as natural and local history.
